Autonomous vehicles are transforming human transportation and leading humanity into a new realm of smart mobility! Facing this brand-new transportation technology, we must first focus on the ethical regulations for autonomous vehicles!
In 2017, Germany took the lead in issuing the "Ethical Rules for Automated and Connected Vehicle Traffic (Ethische Regeln für den automatisierten und vernetzten Fahrzeugverkehr)," which are the world's earliest formulated ethical guidelines for autonomous vehicles, holding significant reference value.
For this event, we have specifically invited Associate Research Fellow Hong De-Chin of Academia Sinica's Institute of European and American Studies, Professor Eric Hilgendorf of the University of Würzburg, Germany, and Professor George Gesk of the University of Osnabrück, Germany, to deliver keynote speeches and discussions on EU and German autonomous vehicle ethical regulations and the latest legislative developments, serving as a reference for the development of autonomous vehicles in Taiwan.
Taiwan Smart Driving Company, a renowned domestic autonomous vehicle operator, also collaborated with Distinguished Professor Chang Li-Ching of National Kaohsiung University and her research team to execute the Ministry of Science and Technology industry-academia cooperation project, "Legal Challenges and Responses for Autonomous Vehicles in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." At this conference, they will present the Ethical Guidelines for Autonomous Vehicle Industry Development (Draft), which is expected to aid the development of Taiwan's autonomous vehicle industry.
This conference will be held simultaneously in physical and online formats, and broadcast live. We sincerely invite you to participate!
