Venue: 1st Conference Room, Zhide Building, Taipei Veterans General Hospital

Description: In response to the rapid development of AI in medical technology and its impact on the medical industry, this symposium is co-organized with Taipei Veterans General Hospital. It brings together domestic and international experts from medical, legal, and cross-disciplinary fields. Through in-depth and multi-faceted discussions, we aim to facilitate a balance between medicine and law, deepen cooperation between industry, government, and academia, and collectively pioneer a new era of Artificial Intelligence.

The symposium features four major themes:

Regulations and Practices of Telemedicine: This session explores the practical development and future outlook of telemedicine in Taiwan, discusses the regulatory frameworks and implementations in Germany and Japan, and reviews relevant Taiwanese laws.

Collection, Utilization, and Liability of Smart Medical Data: This session examines the clinical applications and commercial mechanisms of AI in medical imaging from a physician's perspective, while legal scholars explore the legal compliance regarding the use of smart healthcare and biometric data.

Application and Liability of Smart Medical Devices: Focusing on medical devices, physicians will share insights on the application and legal responsibilities of smart technology. Legal experts will further analyze the challenges that the wave of smart medical devices poses to the construction of civil liability frameworks.

International Legal Regulations for Smart Medical Devices: The final session invites experts from the United States, Germany, and China to discuss recent legal trends in smart healthcare. By drawing on international legislative developments, we aim to assist in the amendment and application of legal systems for Taiwan’s emerging smart healthcare sector.
