the CEO of the foundation professor Chang, Li-ching and deputy chief executive lawyer Chu, Chen-Tso, was invited to Microsoft headquarters in Seattle, United States in June, 2019 , exchanged and visited with AI legal experts from various countries on AI ethics and data privacy protection, hoping to introduce the latest AI legal insights and development for Taiwan by participating in the discussion on the formulation of international laws and regulations on AI.
The theme of the conference focuses on the protection of private data, mainly based on the General Data Protection Principles (GDPR), which came into force in the European Union in 2018. Professor Chang, Li-ching, chief executive officer, pointed out that future applications of unmanned vehicles include mass transit and driverless cars.During their operation, these unmanned vehicles collect a large amount of information, including the common addresses of drivers and passengers, and even biological identification data such as voice and fingerprints. However, there is no mention of personal data protection provisions in the legal norms, which poses a great threat to people's privacy.
