With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the demand for talent equipped with AI skills in the future workplace has increased significantly, making the importance of receiving AI education during academic studies self-evident. Although Taiwan currently has professional faculty teaching AI-related courses, the accessibility of these courses remains limited and unable to meet the growing demand for learning.

To further elevate the quality of AI education in Taiwan, the Yong Lin Education Foundation and the International Research Foundation for Artificial Intelligence Law have partnered with four renowned Taiwanese universities—Soochow University, Shih Chien University, Tunghai University, and National Chung Cheng University. Together, they have assembled over 40 AI experts and scholars from northern, central, and southern Taiwan to jointly launch a series of courses titled "Taiwan Innovation: Future AI Application and Regulatory Exploration." In the first week of classes alone, nearly 100 students from various departments participated enthusiastically, demonstrating widespread interest and passion for this field.

This initiative introduces an interdisciplinary AI application and regulatory curriculum taught by AI experts from various universities, expected to cover 16 weeks of content. Furthermore, there are plans to transform the curriculum into an online open learning platform in the future, allowing more students to benefit from these educational resources. The series focuses on the practical application of AI and related regulatory issues while covering other critical AI topics, aiming to create a comprehensive professional curriculum system for AI application and regulation.

The course is designed around four main units:

  1. AI Education and How It Changes the Future Workplace: Analyzing how AI technology reshapes work models and workplace demands across various industries.

  2. AI Basic Theory and Fundamental Applications: Introducing basic AI theories and practical application cases to help students build a solid theoretical foundation.

  3. The Impact of AI on the Legal System: Exploring how AI is transforming the legal field, including applications in legal information processing and automated contract review.

  4. AI Applications: Delving into various AI application cases to enhance students' ability to solve practical problems.

This initiative will not only enhance students' professional skills but also strengthen Taiwan's competitiveness in the global AI arena. It is expected that through this series of courses, a solid foundation will be laid for the cultivation of future talent.
